American Red Cross considers every disaster a major disaster. Large, costly disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, and earthquakes make the news but most emergenices don't. A house fire, as the one in the picture in Watertown this past winter, or a loved one needing CPR may not be as newsworthy but they are a tragedy for those involved. In every single case, it is the mission of the American Red Cross to be there and help those in need, whether diaster strikes thousands of people at once or just one family in the middle of the night. Our job is never done - people always need us, every single day! Just last year we responded to more than 64 disasters locally.

We need your help!

Together, We Can Change A Life
Whether helping disaster victims, helping at the scene of a fire or teaching valuable, life-saving skills, your American Red Cross is keeping families healthy and safe. None of it would be possible, however, without the generous financial support of people like you.

We appreciate your donation!

Donation Methods

While there are several different ways in which people can make a donation, the majority of financial contributions to the Red Cross generally are made using one of the following three methods:

1. Online through the RedCross.org Web site Donations are made via credit card, processed electronically and the donor receives an immediate acknowledgement for tax purposes.

2. Via telephone through 1-800-HELP-NOW Donations are made via credit card, processed electronically and the donor receives an immediate acknowledgement for tax purposes, if they have given their e-mail address; otherwise, acknowledgements are sent by regular mail.

3. Regular Mail Donations are made in the form of a check or credit card and mailed to a Red Cross postal address.
Each one of these donation methods can be stretched to capacity in a matter of hours or days during a disaster.

Did you that financial contributions to the American Red Cross are tax-deductible?

THE AMERICAN RED CROSS of NNY CHAPTER

You can help support your local chapter programs and services through a gift to your local Red Cross chapter.

Change-a-Life

Change-a-Life shows how all of our lives are connected through the Red Cross. Maybe one person receives lifesaving blood from someone they never met. Another person's financial contribution provides shelter during a storm for a family they may not have met, but to whom their generosity means everything. Another person learns CPR hoping they would never need to use it, but the training means they can help a stranger who immediately and unexpecedly needs resuscitation.

Through this campaign the Red Cross is better able to help others, and by doing so, this has a profound effect on the person who provides the help as well. Support the American Red Cross and help Change a Life.
